The Drink Less Mind workshop is an empowering day that re-educates your mind consciously and unconsciously to reduce your drinking. Most heavy drinking is a habit that can be un-learnt.
The Drink Less Mind workshop is a thought provoking and insightful look at why people drink too much alcohol. People from all walks of life attend who all have one thing in common. They are secretly worried about how much they drink.
This programme is not for alcoholics (although many alcoholics have said they think the programme is brilliant at helping them to cope without drinking at all). There is a big need in the market for people who recognise that their drinking sometimes interferes with their lives in negative ways such as: procrastination, stress, anxiety, low self esteem and depression.
We are a culture of drinkers, which I kindly support, however sometimes we use alcohol as an emotional crutch that leads us down the slippery slope of another drink to forget, to forgive, to give love and make love.
I believe that alcohol is the symptom not the cause of over drinking and that the desire to drink more than we would like to is an emotional habit. An emotional habit that can be unlearnt!
Over-drinking heralds low self worth, shyness, fear of sexual intimacy, social anxieties just to name a few to be the culprit to the secret reasons why we drink when we know it truly isn't helping our health and emotional well-being.
Social shyness and anxiety I believe is a major player when it comes to drinking too much, this includes people from all walks of life who simply don't believe they can relax enough without having 'that' drink. There are others who feel they are not intelligent enough or funny enough unless they have that drink. There also those who feel in order to be intimate they need a 'good luck' charm swig of whatever in the false belief that it will calm their nerves and of course it does and this is when it becomes an emotional habit.
